Civil law

Civil law (= private law) regulates legal relationships between citizens and/or companies. Parties are on an equal footing. Civil law covers daily matters such as contracts, contractual and/or statutory claims for damages, liability for defects, traffic accidents, medical liability, property, family, marriage, and inheritance. The primary objective in civil law is for the injured party to obtain their legal right (e.g., compensation or moral damages).
